Obama Government Stops Incentive Growth - Job Outsourcing & Obamacare
by Ladora McCracken
Nov. 2008: It sure scares me to think of Obama's plan for big government. We can do a better job of deciding what to do with our money instead of the government taking it and spending it.
Bill Clinton signed the NAFTA bill into law! The United Auto Workers (UAW) has been silent recently on that one! Why? One reason companies left the U.S. is because corporations & big businesses are charged such high taxes. That tax money could've gone back into the business for new hires, research and so on.
Our country is still based on Capitalism and free enterprise and achievement. What is wrong with profit? Do some research on trickle-down economics. Tool & die shops, machine shops and all types of industries, restaurants, supply companies, small businesses etc. thrive when large manufacturers thrive in America. The city income tax base grows too. We'd rather choose our own health care plan instead of being told what we can do or where we can go or when or even if we can go. Sure, through the years we were very blessed with GM benefits and later Delphi's benefits. Now we're blessed to have some of our health care provided by GM. If sometime in the future those benefits are cut completely, we'd rather buy our own health care than depend upon the government. By wise management, we will budget enough to do it on our own without a handout. We'd rather keep control of our money, choices and lives.
Sure, we're scared, but we trust in GOD, who never fails and is always faithful. HE is our Provider, not GM, nor Delphi, nor the government. HE will provide a way. We have to be willing to look for it and be responsible citizens. I don't want the government making all health care decisions for me. I don't want the government knowing every little ailment, surgery need, or whatever I have. I know they'll prioritize and we won’t be satisfied.
I've talked to older people who were Canadian citizens. They moved to the U.S. & became U.S. citizens because of the messup there with health care. In Canada's socialized health system they had to wait and wait for mri's, heart procedures, etc. They wanted better health care.
I saw what happened to Social Security because of ruthless spending by the government. They love to spend money (our tax dollars) that isn't theirs. If a private business was run that way, it would not be in business very long. If we ran our household that way, we'd be out on the street.
My husband worked hard through a four year apprenticeship and went to school at night to become a Journeyman Tool & Diemaker. He earned top wage working hard in a successful tool & die shop for nine years before he went to the toolroom at GM to work. I repeat, he earned it and he worked hard. We should not have to work hard to "spread the wealth" around giving it to people who don't work but are perfectly physically & mentally capable of working a job. Welfare etc. is for those with true needs. I'm sick of the "'It’s not fair" victimization whine.
Read below: An except from the JFK Inaugural Address on Jan. 20, 1961:
“The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe -- the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God. -- Paragraph 2 “We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans -- born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage -- and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this Nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world." -- Paragraph 3 AND, NEVER FORGET the challenge from JFK on Jan. 20, 1961: "And so my fellow Americans, Ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what you can do for your country ." -- Paragraph 25
Whew! Thanks for letting me get all that off my chest ! Boy am I on my soapbox today. This election is the turning point in our country, don’t you think ?
