Brian Faith Rockumentary

by Joel Anderson

Dec. 2011, Issue 42: The Brian Faith Band (BFB) is off to a head start on what promises to be a very busy musical year, having just announced a full feature length Film, The Band: A Rockumentary.

Now in the final post production stages, the film is already booked into several film festivals across the nation. The one hour film documentary, produced by LilliMar Pictures’ John Ferry and Grace De Soto Ferry (www.Lillimar. com), details the generational story of music as the fabric of a supportive family, as well as a tenacious band.

Early musical beginnings credit the bands father, Joseph Orosco, who entertained troops while serving active duty as an interpreter in the Navy during WWII. He was stationed on the ship, the U.S.S. Belle Grove (LSD-2) off Iwo Jima during the crucial 1945 battle.

While landing troops on the beaches during the battle, Joseph witnessed the historic raising of the flag on Iwo Jima. He also provided much needed respite from the troops’ battle fatigue, as a musician/guitar player and singer. He picked up a lot of the country classics, from the troops who signed up for the fight from all over the United States. Joseph passed away in 2002, and was followed by his wife Esther on Oct. 4, 2011.

So soulfully depicted in the film were the family, social, political, and musical ties as the band and family developed over the years and continues to evolve to this day. Their New LP, also titled “Brian Faith Band: Rocumentary”, will be available in January on Amazon. It contains all original music, including bonus hits (Meet Me At The Corner, You Are, Forever), and several previously unreleased recordings as well as new songs.

It is anticipated that BFB will be Touring the Film Festival circuit in the coming year. New YouTube videos also include Emotional Arrest, With You, Timeless, and ESP. All can be accessed at www.youtube.com/user/brianfaithbandsongs. The band is also producing several new original videos, soon to be uploaded there. These songs include Forever, Running, Feel Alright, and Clouds.
